The North Carolina Youth Leadership Forum (NCYLF) is an exciting and empowering 5‑day experience for youth and young adults with disabilities ages 15–30 who are ready to build confidence, independence, and leadership skills. Hosted at NC State University, NCYLF gives delegates a true taste of college life—eating in the dining halls, exploring campus, and learning about disability services that support academic success—while also helping them navigate major life transitions such as moving from high school to college, college to employment, or toward independent living. Throughout the program, delegates develop self‑advocacy skills, explore post‑secondary options, strengthen employment and independent living skills, and participate in fun, interactive activities designed to build leadership and personal growth. Most importantly, NCYLF fosters a welcoming community where participants connect with peers, discover their voice, and build lifelong friendships. This life‑changing program is completely FREE and provides all requested accommodations, including interpreters, CART, and alternate formats, ensuring every participant can fully engage and thrive.
